For those of you who were here on Sunday, you know what I mean when I say we had FUN! Rainy days can’t stop us from enjoying bounce houses, carnival games, cotton candy and hot dogs! We just brought the party indoors! The bounce house castle might have touched the ceiling, and the obstacle course stretched more than half of the sanctuary, but we made it work! The smiles were amazing and it was so fun to see everyone’s costumes and happy faces.
Thank you to the amazing Purim Carnival team, led by Mike and Sabrina Flynn, for their hard work to make the carnival a success. Everything was beautifully planned and organized. I couldn’t ask for a better group of people to work with. Thank you!!!
Annual Purim Spiel
But, the Purim celebrations have barely begun! The carnival was just a taste of the fun that we will have on Wednesday night, March 23rd. Join us at 5:45pm for a tasty pasta and pizza dinner (only $5 per person and $20 per family), then stay for the singing and revelry! You wont want to miss seeing your kid’s contribution to our first Purim video! And, no one can pass up the silliness of the annual Purim Spiel – this year it’s Seussical style! Come in costume, bring your family and friends, and spend the evening with your TOR family! Please RSVP to the Evite for dinner so we can make sure we have enough food!
Shalach Manot Baskets
Remember that Thursday is the last day to sign up to participate in the congregational mitzvah of Shalach Manot. Only $36 to sponsor the entire congregation – that’s 250 families receiving shalach manot from you! Call the temple office to participate. I hope you will join me in giving shalach manot to your fellow TOR families.
Also, don’t forget to pick up your family’s basket, starting this Friday and continuing through Purim. Each member family will get one shalach manot basket. Remember to grab yours!
Matanot La’evyonim – Gifts to the Poor
When you come to pick up your shalach manot basket, and when you come to join us for the Purim Spiel, please bring a few items to fill our food closet. We are fortunate to have a place for families in need to go for food when they need it. Please help us keep our pantry full – and fulfill this wonderful Purim mitzvah as well!
